On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, His Grace Bishop Ermia, the General Bishop and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center received the Geek Church’s Delegation at the Center in St. Mark’s Cathedral, Abbasiya, in the presence of His Grace Bishop Bavlos of the Coptic Church in Greece.
In his word, His Grace Bishop Ermia, the General Bishop, welcomed the Greek delegation, considering the Greek Church one of the closest churches to the Coptic Orthodox Church, and that he visited Greece several times, during which he gave many lectures.
His Grace Bishop Ermia clarified that the deep love and great historical relations link between the two churches, in addition to a number of cultural and humanitarian bonds connecting the two peoples, stating that the Coptic Orthodox Church presided by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II always welcomes all its sister churches, especially our beloved Greek Church.
The Greek Church’s Delegation made a tour inside the Coptic Cultural Center, where they visited the Patriarchal Museum and the shrine of the Modern Age’s Martyrs, they uttered a touching prayer, seeking the blessing of the martyrs. At the end of the visit, they took memorial photos with Bishop Ermia and they exchanged gifts together.
The Greek delegation arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday morning, November, 26, 2018, they were received by Bishop Bavlos of Greece who would accompany them along their visit to Egypt.
The delegation included Archbishop Agnatius Metropolitan of Volos, Archbishop Krisostamos Metropolitan of Zodonis, Archbishop Youannes, the Head of Bandalis Monastery and Archimandrite Spirizon Catramanos.
