A statement from the “Communal Council” warns of producing films about Pope Shenouda without the church approval

The Communal Council of the Coptic Orthodox Church warned film production companies from producing films or series about the life of The late Pope Shenouda III, before obtaining the approval of the church.

The Council,added in a statement issued today, the legal committee of the Council: «According to the church laws ,Pope Shenouda, who gave his life for the church as a monk and then a bishop and then patriarch his history belong to the church» . The statement alluded that the patience in producing a work of art will not deprive his fans from anything, because his life is still alive in the hearts and minds of Egyptians, all of us, the council will not hesitate to take all legal measures to prevent this production.
