Their eminences Anba Moussa, General Bishop of youth, Anba Raphael General Bishop of downtown Cairo Churches and secretary of the Holy Synod, Anba Ermia, General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center and Anba Marteros Bishop of eastern railway, headed on Sunday, February 5, 2017, funeral service of martyr Demiana Amir, 14, martyr No. 29 of the Petrine church bombing.
The martyr coffin entered the church by a Scouts march and the church was decorated with flowers and Demiana name was written with flowers.
Anba Moussa, Bishop of youth, conveyed the condolences of HH Pope Tawadros II, Bishops and priests to the family of martyr Demiana Amir who passed away yesterday affected by her wounds.
Anba Moussa said, in the sermon of the funeral service at the Petrine Church, our Muslims brothers came to bid farewell to Demiana, who went to heaven and was greeted by St. Demiana and the Forty-virgin martyrs.
His eminence added, no doubt it was a joyful meeting, and we perished her with joy because we wedded her to heaven, she went to the paradise, to ineffable joy.
Anba Moussa continued, Demiana is flapping with her wings above us, and tell us live in the way I lived, and bond with God like I did, and learn from the martyrs, the first rank in the church is the worshipers, the upper rank the saints, and the top rank is the martyrs, preceded only by angels.
Anba Moussa, cited the little girl did not have a wedding, but now she is paraded to the sky to a big wedding, became a patroness to us and a model for adults and children in order to live a life of righteousness.
Her family announced that Demiana’s body will be buried in St. Shenouda cemetery within the mass graves of the martyrs of the Petrine ministry.
Demiana was 14 years old at the second preparatory grade in Notre Dame school, and was receiving treatment at Al-Galaa military hospital since the bombing of the Petrine Church until passing away on Saturday.
