No sooner had he entered his room, than he hurried toward a pile of paper on his desk. He had made a decision to write down all his friend’s mistakes in order to tell him how unkind he was! But, suddenly, he closed his eyes and started murmuring, “No, I won’t do this! You are my friend.”
How hard life will be if you keep remembering people’s mistakes! It will be full of unhappy moments. How harsh the hearts full of hatred are! They will be lost in the dark. Now, mark this: Life is too short to be wasted on nursing hatred and animosity or recording others’ faults. It is also too valuable to be destroyed this way: for it is the path that will lead us to a blissful eternity.
The greatest thing about life is its true value and that of humans who lead it. Each of us has a role in life. So, he has to perform it in way that emphasizes his greatness. He should not veer from his goal by making his life a chronicle of others’ mistakes. Rather, it should be a record for their success and achievements. Encourage others to overcome their weaknesses and learn from their experiences. Support them, so you might find support when you need it: for God is fair.
Kind hearts light the world with their great love and service to everybody, expecting nothing in return. They strive to reach heaven and toil incessantly to lead others to the same destination.
