HH Pope Tawadros II inaugurates Virgin Mary and St. Macarius Church at ElHadaba ElOlia in Mokattam with the participation of Bishop Ermia

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of Saint Mark, On Sunday, inaugurated Virgin Mary and St. Macarius Church at ElHadaba ElOlia in Mokattam, in the presence of hundreds of worshipers of the Church.

HH Pope Tawadros II headed the inauguration prayers of the church prayers with the participation of a number of bishops Their Eminences Anba Abanob General Bishop of Mokttam, Anba Raphael, secretary-general of the Holy Synod, Anba Daniel Bishop of Maadi and Anba Ermia general bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodix Cultural Center, Anba Angelios, and Anba Makari.

The inauguration was attended by a number of public figures and MPs from Mokattam,  Manshiet Nasser and El-Gamalia, and a large number of attendees.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II delivered a sermon about “Zacchaeus, the tax collector,” which was working in a hated profession in his time, which is the collection of taxes in favor of the Romans, but after meeting with Christ, repented of his sins, stressing that the Church offers us in the month of Tout examples of repentance.
