In the previous article, we tackled generosity, benevolence and decent manners that redound to the benevolent. We also mentioned the story of the receptionist who became the manager of the most famous hotels due to his benevolence.
Benevolence contributes to all humanity and we also commenced a story of a simple farmer who saved a child from certain death, yet did not accept any reward for his honorable deed. Fortunately, when the rich father of the child has seen the son of the country man, he offered them a great present that he would cover all his school expense till he became a young man who would be a pride for all of them.
The boy continued his education and went to the best schools. He was so distinguished that he went to medical school and became a prominent and renounced doctor all over the world; he is Sir. Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin. The story is not ended yet. After many years, the son of the noble rich man caught pneumonia and was saved by penicillin. Fleming rather saved all humanity thanks to his great invention. The noble man was Lord Randolph Churchill, the wise prime minister of Britain and his son Sir Winston Churchill.
We can infer that:
First: Churchill was a wise and benevolent leader to all he met. Thus, it was redounded to his son who was saved when about to die in the swamp.
Second: The farmer saved the boy, yet he did not know that he was the son of the prime ministry at that time and he had not done that deed to return his favor.
Third: The benevolence of the farmer contributes to the good of his son getting a chance to get an education that his father would have been able to afford. Therefore, the boy’s discourse of fate was totally changed and he became a great doctor, scientist and discoverer of one of the most important inventions that saved millions of people.
They say “Giving generously is not only of great use to the receiver, but to the giver as well”
Mrs. Eddy was standing in utter confusion unable to think about what she could do as her car was broke down at a remote area in that chilly winter. It was not long till she find a car approaching her and man is getting of it offering to help her. It was Jo who was known for his generosity and helpfulness.
Jo stopped to fix the lady’s car and she was a little afraid of him at the beginning, but yet she was warmed to him and in a short time he was able to run the car’s engine. Eddy tried to give Jo some money, but he refused telling her it would be better to repay him by doing a good deed to another person, then they parted. After a while she stopped by a café to have a hot drink. Eddy noticed that the waitress was so fatigue, she found out that she was pregnant and working for the sake of her coming baby. When Eddy left, the girl went to tidy the table to find that Eddy had left her a large sum of money and attached to it a paper on which it is written “I met someone called Jo. He gave me a helping hand and asked to repay his good deed by doing something good to another person, here I am doing that”. The girl went back home feeling great joy to tell her husband “Jo” about that lovely incident. His generosity redounded to his own good.
