They say disability is not being footless or armless; but aimless .Disability is being sad and depressed while you have all the mediums that help you to be happy and successful. Many people think that a disabled is a person who has physical disabilities preventing him from leading a normal life. However, history proves the dullness of that idea. We should speak of those disabled persons who were amazingly able to amaze the world with their achievements and inventions.
They turned their disability into a talent and their failure into success. They were successful to cast any shadow of desperation out of their lives. Helen Keller was able to challenge all the disabilities she suffered and was able to achieve what many sound people are unable to Edison was said to be strange and idiot , yet he was home-tutored and became a prolific inventor, holding 1,093 US patents in his name.
There are many Egyptian examples like Dr. Taha Hussein, the Dean of Arabic Literature who lost his sight when he was 4 and yet was able to be a college professor, dean of the Faculty of Arts and later on minister of knowledge (Education).
Those people have their reasons to fail; yet they insisted to succeed achieving victory over all the obstacles they met. Each one of them has become an example to many of us.
Other people didn’t face the suitable circumstances to succeed; nevertheless they have a strong will and clear vision that helped them to achieve all they dreamed of. For example, Abraham Lincoln, who belonged to a poor family and his mother died when he was 9 that made him appreciate the true value of life and that man’s disability is the result of his thoughts and inability to recognize his true abilities. Eventually, he became the president of the United States of America.
The true disability is when you stop using the talents and abilities that God granted you. All of us are special and we all have special traits as people were not created to be the same. Each one of us has his special abilities that distinct him from others, same as finger prints.
Thus, you have to put before your eyes the goals you want to achieve as they will motivate you to exert more efforts at work and overcome the hardships you may face. When man doesn’t know what he wants all the ways will lead him to there.
Dear Reader, you should have your own goals and aspirations and discover the secret of power within you, hence your imaginary disabilities will fade away.
