Mina Thabet, member of the Egyptian Freedom and Rights Commission, filed a report at the Department of Foreign Affairs, about the kidnapping of 4 Christian Egyptian men while returning from the Libyan capital, Tripoli, to Egypt.
Thabet clarified that he and the brother of the kidnapped men, Wageeh Hakeem, reported to the Foreign Affairs Department the abduction of his three brothers Gamal, Ra’fat and Romany, and his paternal cousin Adel Sedqy Hakeem, during their return from the Libyan capital, Tripoli on their way to Egypt.
He pointed out that the families of the victims heard of all details of their abduction from the survivors of the incident, who confirmed an armed group learned of their religion and commanded them to step out of the returning car, after knowing their religion.
Thabet confirmed that the Department of Foreign Affairs, once informed of the incident, promised to do its utmost to try and retrieve them to Egyptian lands safely.
