I would like to felicitate all of you on the glorious Feast of Resurrection, which the Christians of the East celebrate today, praying to God to bestow His blessings upon our beloved Egypt and all Egyptians.
Celebrating the Resurrection, we remember that the Resurrection is a condolence for every person for all the hardships he encountered in this life. Some people went through the pain of illness, but they endured it, thanking God. Rather, some of them did not care about their personal pain, but rather began extending their hands to help the tired and serve them, trying to alleviate the pain of whom they meet on the journey of life! Some endured the pain of injustice from others, steadfast in his love for all, executing the commandment of Lord Christ: “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” Others have experienced the pain of losing loved ones; So they put their hope in God, fixing their eyes on eternal life, believing in the resurrection after crossing the bridge of death, confident that there is a date for a second meeting with those loved ones in heaven. Other people live in extreme poverty, but they thank God for His abundant gifts!
The resurrection, brothers, is the source of consolation for souls who put their hope in God, chanting thanksgiving to Him despite their pain and tears, so they deserved a happy eternity, and to receive God’s care mentioned by St. John the Evangelist: “…And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Yes, in eternity: no pain, no sorrow, no tears, but everlasting joy.
