The opening of the first session of Al-Ahram Cultural Salon in the presence of Minister of Culture and president of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center

His Eminence Anba Ermia, General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center attended on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, the first session of “Al-Ahram cultural salon”, under the slogan of “freedom of creativity and thinking” at Mohammed Hassanein Heikal Hall, in Al Ahram main building

The session is held under the supervision of Dr. “Gaber Asfour “The former Minister of culture, and headed by the great writer,” Mohammed Salmawy ” on the occasion of founding anniversary of Al-Ahram newspaper on December 27, 1975.

And with the participation of a number of intellectuals, officials, writers and creators, to discuss the perceptions of the elite around the idea of ​​the salon and slogan.

The cultural Salon was attended by  “Helmy Nimnim” Minister of Culture, Dr. “Gaber Gad Nassar,” President of Cairo University, Dr. Haitham al-Haj the head of the Egyptian General Book Authority, Dr “Bakr Zaki Awad,” former Dean of the Faculty of Theology, “Mohammad Hadi Allam,” editor in chief of Al-Ahram Dr. “Shakir Abdul Hamid,” the former minister of culture, “Makram Mohamed Ahmed,” former journalists union head, Dr. Salah Fadl, the great writer Ibrahim Abdel Meguid, the writer “Sayed Yasin,” MP “Yusuf ElQaid” Dr. “Amal ElSabban,” columnist ” Ahmed Gamal”, the writer,” Salah Montasser, writer ” Faria AlShubashi, the writer” Farida ElNaqash”,” Mahmoud al-Rubaie, and ” Mohammed Eid Ibrahim”.

Anba Ermia, General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center suggested that Ahram be responsible to show commonalities between religions and present it to children and young people in schools and universities, he added that Al Ahram newspaper is the fourth pyramid in Egypt, and that the reform of the system in Egypt must starts from young age and provide proper information .
