Armed Forces Engineering body begin 23 churches restoration and constructions that had been demolished and burned by Muslim Brotherhood, following Rabaa Adawiya and Nahda sit-in unfold, in the August 14, 2013. Fulfilling President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi promises of rebuilding all demolished and burned churches by the end of this year.
A church source, in a press statement, said that “the remaining churches that need reconstruction and restoration will cost 110 million pounds after spending 90 million during the past years to rebuild and restore first set of churches and facilities, and that the army will bear all expenses.”
The source pointed out, that the work will be divided to two phases, each one will take 6 months, and the restoration work is due to be completed next Christmas.”
Among the most prominent churches army began to rebuild, Virgin Mary Monastery churches in Delga village, Deir Mawas, Minya, which includes Anba Abram Church, St. George Church and Virgin Mary archaeological Church, as well as the Catholic Church services building which includes a nursery, an orphanage and a store, plus St. Moses the Black Coptic Orthodox Church , an orphanage and Amin Ibrahim medical complex .
