HH Pope Tawadros II: church construction law corrected an error and bandaged wounds

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, expressed his sincere thanks to the officials for passing churches construction and renovation Law, His Holiness thanked President Abdel Fattah Sisi,  the Speaker of the House of representative and its members, engineer Sherif Ismail, Prime Minister, and judge Magdy Agaty Minister of Legal Affairs and the House of Representatives and all  officials.

Pope said that this law came to correct the error that lasted for more than 160 years.

His Holiness added, church and lighthouses were built in Egypt since the first centuries and Islam then entered and minarets and lighthouses juxtaposition and are an extension of the obelisks in the Pharaonic era, Egypt is the teacher of unknown columns art in the whole world, obelisk was in the Pharaonic era, the lighthouse in the Coptic era and minarets in Islamic era.

And about the law His Holiness Pope said, the passing of the law bandaged long lasting wounds of stability and citizenship, there has been a consensus in the House of Representatives to approve the law, with few exception and the members cheered long live the Crescent with the Cross.

This statement came at the start of his weekly sermon, which was held at Transfiguration Church in Pontifical Logos Center in St. Bishoy monastery- Wadi al-Natron.
