On Wednesday morning, September 7, 2022, the Divine Liturgy was held in the presence of the body of reposed Bishop Isaac, the General Bishop and Spiritual Father of the Monastery of St. Macarius of Alexandria in Jabal al-Qalali, Beheira Governorate, held at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria.
The Divine Liturgy was presided over by their Graces Metropolitan Pachomius of Beheira, Matrouh and the five western Libyan cities, Bishop Bavly, and Bishop Hermina of the central and eastern sector of Alexandria.
Funeral prayer
Following the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, presided over the funeral prayers of the Thrice Beatified, His Grace Bishop Isaac the reposed, General Bishop and spiritual father of the monastery of St. Macarius of Alexandria in Jabal al-Qalali.
The funeral prayers were attended by His Grace Metropolitan Pachomius of Beheira, Matrouh and the five western Libyan cities, the Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Macarius of Alexandria in Jabal al-Qalali, and His Grace Metropolitan Antonios of the Jerusalem See and the Near East, as well as bishops and patriarchal deputies in Cairo and Alexandria, and the monks of the Monastery of Saint Macarius of Alexandria in Jabal al-Qalali. Also, monks from a number of Coptic monasteries attended, in addition to priests from Alexandria and Cairo and a number of dioceses.
