His Grace Bishop Ermia, the General Bishop, Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center as well as a group of father bishops, priests of the dioceses of Minya and Al-Muharraq Monastery, priests and deacons of the diocese of Abu Qurqas, participated on Saturday evening, March 20, 2021 in the ceremony and prayer on the eve of enthroning His Grace Bishop Philopateer as the first bishop of the diocese of Abu Qurqas, and its dependencies, he was the supervisor of the Clerical College of Al-Muharraq Monastery, before obtaining the bishopric blessing, at the headquarters of the Church of Saint Virgin Mary, Al-Fikriya City in Abu Qurqas.
Cantor Ibrahim Ayad participated in the enthronement ceremony, leading the choir of the Clerical College of the monastery of Al-Muharraq. A number of Sudanese children of the Egyptian Coptic Church in Sudan, who are studying at the Clerical College participated in chanting the Coptic tunes.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Osama al-Qadi, the Governor of Minya, accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Muhammad Abu Zayd, as well as Dr. Muhammad Helmy, head of Abu Qurqas city, a group of executive and security leaders, Islamic clerics, and a number of parliament members and sheikhs in the governorate.
